Baker Mayfield

Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield (right biceps), WR Chris Godwin (ankle), LT Tristan Wirfs (knee) active vs. Eagles

The Buccaneers will have their quarterback in the lineup to pursue a 4-0 record.

Tampa Bay QB Baker Mayfield is officially active for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mayfield was limited in practice all week and drew a questionable designation due to a right biceps injury, but the tough-as-nails signal-caller will predictably be under center against the reigning Super Bowl champs.

He’ll be joined by a pair of key contributors returning to the lineup, as wide receiver Chris Godwin and offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs, also both listed as questionable, will make their season debuts. Their availability was likely — head coach Todd Bowles said Friday that Godwin and Wirfs were trending in the right direction to play — but is nonetheless a major boost.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday night that all three Buccaneers were expected to play in Sunday’s matchup.

Godwin has been working his way back from a dislocated ankle he suffered in Week 7 of the 2024 season. He’s been making progress over the last two weeks by participating in practice on a limited basis with some off days sprinkled in. During the leadup to Week 4, he was twice a full participant, with a DNP on Thursday.

As for Wirfs, he underwent knee surgery in July and was likewise expected to miss a few games to start the 2025 season. He went from a limited participant Wednesday to practicing in full Thursday and Friday.

Entering Week 4, the Eagles and Buccaneers are two of three NFC teams that remain unbeaten. Sunday’s matchup is the only game between two teams that are 3-0.

Mayfield and the Buccaneers host the Eagles at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
